Winner announced: 2022 Tall Foundation Scholarship in Classics
Wednesday 18 May 2022

Congratulations to Heather Collins, the 2022 recipient of the Tall Foundation Scholarship in Classics.

The Scholarship, funded by the Tall Foundation, provides financial support of $5,000 to students who are undertaking research in the fields of Classics and Ancient History.

Heather, who grew up in Tasmania, studied a Bachelor of Classical Studies and a Bachelor of International Security Studies at ANU, and is now completing Honours in Classics.
Her topic is on Lucan’s Bellum Civile, a Roman epic poem that portrays the civil war between Julius Caesar and Pompey the Great (49-45 BCE).

“Completing an Honours degree in Classics at ANU with a supervisor who is [as] reputable, knowledgeable, and generous with his time as Dr Caillan Davenport is irreplaceable in value,” says Heather.

“The skills and knowledge I gain undertaking this study will only build upon that which I accumulated throughout completing my undergraduate double degree.”

The Tall Foundation Scholarship in Classics is offered annually, with applications opening in December.
